This year’s Grand Finals are going to be in San Francisco on Sept 1st. It’s going to feature live performances by Peanut Butter Wolf, JRocc, Madlib, A-Trak, and others. More details can be found here.

So..our number one fan, Hairy Darkback, has been insisting for years that we update the site more frequently (to be honest, he’s not the only one who’s complained…he’s just been the most annoying). As you may have already noticed, BeatPlanet has undergone a little facelift. Besides some obvious topographical changes, we are still pretty much the same old shit. We still list pimp ass events and happenings in the 415. We still offer sweet streaming beats through our new and improved Music Player, so you can nod your head while browsing the site. We still got the Wax Shacks, showing where you can get your vinyl addiction fix. We still tell the same booger and fart jokes and cap on the same fools we’ve been making cry for years. (Whatups, Pang! Wherever you are…) We’re the same fat schmucks who probably won’t really update this site with any more regularity than we have over the last few years even though we have streamlined the site to make it easy enough for a three year-old to post new shit in a matter of minutes (Sorry Darkback, you still don’t get update rights!) But besides all that same old shit…we now have videos, sick ass graffiti shots, and a picture gallery archiving some classic moments in BeatPlanet history.

TODAY - SATURDAY AUG. 5th
2pm-7pm — Bring your car by for a special DUSTFISH car wash. $10/car. ART CARS ARE FREE! The DJs will be spinnin’ and the Dustfish will be in wet tshirts or none at all! It’ll be one helluva street party in front of Retox!

7pm - 2am — We move inside and dance our asses off. DJs include Break Beat Buddha, Adnan, NoMe, Shrimp, Queen Agnes B, Leo, and we keep signing up more. Cover is $5 after 9pm.

The location is Retox. It used to be the old Sublounge @ 20th St and 3rd St. SF
